Glossary of offers
How welcome offers usually work
UK operators advertise several shapes of welcome package. None of them are free money in the everyday sense — they come with wagering rules, game weightings, and expiry clocks. This page explains the vocabulary so the homepage scoreboard makes more sense.

Matched deposit bonuses
The operator credits bonus funds as a percentage of a qualifying first deposit, up to a stated cap. Those funds typically sit in a bonus balance until you meet a wagering multiplier. Slots often contribute 100%; many table games contribute far less or zero.
Free spins
Spins are attached to named slots or a small list of titles. Winnings from spins often convert into bonus cash that still carries wagering. Check whether unused spins expire within hours or days — that detail changes the real value more than the headline spin count.
Cashback
Cashback returns a portion of net losses over a period, sometimes as withdrawable cash, sometimes as bonus money. Read whether the calculation is daily or weekly and whether void bets count. Cashback is not a win guarantee; it softens a losing stretch under defined rules.

Wagering requirements
A “35x bonus” line means you must stake the bonus amount thirty-five times before conversion, unless the terms say bonus-plus-deposit. Max bet while wagering, excluded games, and country rules can void progress if ignored. If a term is unclear, skip the opt-in until support clarifies it in writing.
How this ties to our newcomer angle
For first accounts we care less about headline size and more about whether terms are readable in one sitting. Jackpot Star often leads with spins; sports-led brands may wrap casino offers differently. Compare structure, not slogans.
